Hero of Hope Spotlight | Gayle Whittemore & Alexandra Glickman

Children’s Bureau relies on the support from our sponsors and donors to provide the children and families in our community the tools and resources they need to thrive. The virtual Heroes of Hope campaign is the current endeavor to raise funds for the underserved families in our community and we are so thankful to all our donors. In this post, we will be highlighting two of the campaign’s heroes: Gayle Whittemore and Alexandra Glickman.

Gayle and Alex have been long time supporters of Children’s Bureau and share a passion for the work being done to support the families in our community. In fact, Gayle has been involved with the organization since 1990 as an audit partner, consultant, and now the agency’s full-time Chief Financial Officer since 2017.

“Working in the nonprofit sector for thirty years, I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand the enormous benefits that children and family services organizations provide to at-risk youth and families in our communities.  Children’s Bureau is on the leading edge as one of the larger providers and is a safety net for many,” shared Gayle. “While I sometimes know too much about the finances of the nonprofits I have worked with over the years, I can honestly say that every dollar spent in this organization is well spent.  It is why my wife and I give as generously as we can because we know the impact our funding has on the children and families we serve. We are proud to support Children’s Bureau.”

Gayle and Alex, who is Senior Managing Director and Global Practice Leader for Gallagher’s Real Estate and Hospitality Services, reside in Studio City and have four adopted children and one grandson.   They have contributed more than just funding over the years and have referred families to Children’s Bureau’s Foster Care and Adoption program.

Here at Children’s Bureau, we take pride in an impressive rate of return. In fact, 87% of all funding goes directly to the programs and services that support vulnerable children and their families.

The agency also undergoes regular audits and has earned the Council of Accreditation Seal of Accreditation, recognizing Children’s Bureau as a provider that continues to successfully implement high-performance standards and deliver high-quality services.
