Annual Meeting of Volunteer Leaders
Children’s Bureau recognized and thanked volunteer leaders at its 105th Annual Meeting of Directors and Trustees held on June 25 at Magnolia Place Family Center in Los Angeles. Movie Night at Magnolia Place
On June 19, more than 60 families from Magnolia Place Family Center attended a slumber party-style movie night that featured a screening of Finding Nemo. In keeping with the event’s underwater adventure theme, the children were given a coloring book filled with fish and were encouraged to find those same fish in the Magnolia Place aquarium. [More] |

Anaheim-Harbor Family Resource Center Opens its Doors
Children’s Bureau’s Salk Family Resource Center relocated to a newly renovated Anaheim-Harbor Family Resource Center in July, much to the anticipation of local families, community agencies and schools. The new location continues to help families living in the Anaheim, Buena Park and Stanton areas but in a larger space and with expanded services thanks to strong collaborative partners. [More]

Family Field Trip to Venice Beach
In August, more than 15 families and staff from Magnolia Place Family Center’s Parent-Child Enrichment Program took a field trip to Venice Beach. The idea for the trip came about when parents saw how their children enjoyed splashing around at the Center’s water tables and sand areas in the playground. The staff thought it was a terrific suggestion and began working with parents to plan the day. [More] |
