Children's Bureau Names Rose M. Wright as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations
Los Angeles, CA - November 23, 2009

(Los Angeles, CA) Children’s Bureau is pleased to announce Rose M. Wright has joined the nonprofit child abuse prevention organization as its director of corporate and foundation relations. Most recently Rose was the director of advancement and communications at Act One, Inc., a training and mentoring program in Hollywood that prepares students for careers in mainstream film and television. As the first advancement director for Act One, Rose instituted an outreach plan for students completing Act One programs which resulted in securing financial pledges from 100 percent of the students who completed the 2008 Act One Writing Program.

Prior to joining Act One, Rose was the director of foundation relations at St. Francis Medical Center Foundation in Lynwood, CA. During her tenure, she helped raise more than $15 million for programs, operations, equipment and scholarships for the hospital and for St. Francis Career College. Previous development experience includes past positions as director of development and communications at USC Keston Institute for Infrastructure and director of major gifts at WATTS Health Charities.

A native of Gary, Indiana, Rose completed her undergraduate studies at Indiana University where she double majored in Journalism and Afro-American Studies, and her graduate studies at Boston University where she received a MS in Journalism and a MA in Afro-American Studies. She also completed the intensive, experience-based training through the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs, Los Angeles. Rose is an active member of the Compton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serves on the Board of California Aquatic Therapy & Wellness Center, Inc.
