FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Children's Bureau Recognizes Corporate Leaders at Orange County Division Annual Meeting Newport Beach, CA - May 26, 2009
(Newport Beach, CA) Children's Bureau Orange County recognized and thanked several outstanding individuals for their contributions to the child abuse prevention programs operated by Children’s Bureau at its Annual Meeting held on May 26, 2009 at the Island Hotel in Newport. Yolanda De La Paz, (Senior Vice President, First Regional Bank) was elected as board chair of the Orange County Division.
Elected as new directors were Barbara Eidson (Community Relations Manager, Island Hotel) and Kelly Crean (actress and philanthropist).
The agency honored Eve Kornyei with the John and Donna Crean Legacy for Children Award, the highest honor that can be awarded to a volunteer. Stan Hanson and AcrA Aerospace were recognized with the Promise for the Future Award. This award was particularly poignant as Stan passed away on May 11. Marty Michael, President of AcrA Aerospace, accepted the award on Stan’s behalf. Mike and Janey Walker received the Care and Compassion Award and Mr. Patrick D. Yrarrazaval-Correa, Principal of Carr Intermediate School in Santa Ana, was awarded the Friend of Children's Bureau Award.
For over 100 years, Children's Bureau (www.all4kids.org) has been providing child abuse prevention and treatment services to families in need. The agency has nine Family Resource Centers in Orange County that serve over 7,000 families each year. Services range from parenting classes, newborn education, foster care and adoption services, counseling and more!
The 12th Annual Creans’ Clambake and Rockin’ Lobster Bash is dedicated to the memory of Stan Hanson. The event features a live and silent auction, a scrumptious clambake dinner featuring tenderloin, lobster and Littleneck clams and dancing under the stars.
