FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Angelic Auxiliary Raises Funds for Southern California's Most Vulnerable Children SANTA MONICA, CA - March 26, 2009
(Santa Monica, CA) On Sunday, March 15, 2009 the Angelic Auxiliary hosted its 7th Annual Carnival at the Pier event at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier. Nearly 400 children and their parents attended this popular family event chaired by Dawn Fleischner, Kari Rasmussen and Gretchen Theodore. Families enjoyed unlimited amusement park rides, carnival games and prizes, face-painting, LA Photo Party booth, hip-hop dance performances by Groovaholix Dance Company and an exciting raffle drawing. The carnival raised more than $80,000 net for Children's Bureau.
The Angelic Auxiliary was established in 1996 and is comprised of young, humanitarian-minded women from the Westside. Since this dynamic group was formed, nearly $1.1 million dollars has been raised for Children’s Bureau.
Children’s Bureau is a 105-year-old nonprofit leader in the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect. More than 14,000 children and families are helped each year throughout Southern California with services that include school readiness, parenting classes, family resource centers, support groups, mental health counseling, foster care, adoption and more.
