FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Corporate Leaders Elected to Children's Bureau Board at 104th Annual Meeting of Directors and Trustees LOS ANGELES, CA - June 26, 2008
(Los Angeles, CA) Children's Bureau recognized and thanked volunteer leaders at its 104th Annual Meeting of Directors and Trustees held on June 26 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Christopher M. Frank (Managing Director, Deutsche Bank Alex Brown) was elected as chairman of the board of directors while Mark Carlin (Executive Vice President, Lockton Insurance Brokers, Inc.) was elected chairman of the board of trustees.
Elected as new directors were Jeff Goodman (President, Sterling Strategies, Inc.), Art Rasmussen (Senior Vice President, CB Richard Ellis - Food Facilities Group), Keith Renken (retired Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche) and Janie Schulman (Partner, Morrison & Foerster). Elected as new trustees were Fred Denitz (Executive Vice President, Preferred Bank), Mike Fourticq, Jr. (Partner, Hancock Park Associates) and Ivan Hindshaw (Managing Partner, Bain & Company, Inc.).
Children's Bureau also awarded its highest honor, the Humanitarian Award, to Mike Fourticq, Sr. and Keith Renken, for their outstanding leadership and generosity as co-chairs of Children's Bureau's $22.5 million capital campaign. Funds from the campaign were used to build the 46,000 sq ft Magnolia Place Family Center, a national model for the prevention of child abuse located just west of downtown Los Angeles.
For over 100 years, Children's Bureau (www.all4kids.org) has been a nonprofit leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. More than 14,000 children and families are helped each year throughout Southern California with services that include school readiness, parenting classes, family resource centers, support groups, mental health counseling, foster care, adoption and more.
