Children's Bureau is pleased to announce that Kimberly Yang has joined the nonprofit organization as its director of corporate and foundation relations effective August 4. Ms. Yang's responsibilities include raising just over $1 million annually through corporate and foundation grants for Children's Bureau's child abuse and prevention services. This represents 42 percent of the agency's private fundraising budget.
'Children's Bureau is privileged to have a professional of Kimberly Yang's caliber joining our development team,' said Carmine Salvucci, chief development officer for Children's Bureau. 'Her commitment to the betterment of nonprofits and her experience helping them reach significant fundraising milestones will be an asset to Children's Bureau and the 14,000 children and parents we serve annually.'
Ms. Yang has 15 years of experience in various fields such as law, fundraising, research and analysis. Most recently, she was the Administrative Director for the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles. There she served as the chief administrator to the board of directors, fundraising, budget, and personnel committees. Prior to that, Ms. Yang served as the Development Manager for UCLA Center for Health Policy Research where she identified potential funders for the California Health Interview Survey and other programs. She has also practiced corporate and health law as a transactional attorney. Ms. Yang received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law and a bachelor's degree in Human Biology from Stanford University.
'I am tremendously excited to join Children's Bureau after the success of its $20 million capital campaign,' said Kimberly Yang. 'The agency's new Magnolia Place Family Center is a window of inspiration for me. By offering an innovative continuum of services to help at-risk children and families in crisis, the Family Center shows what can be accomplished when individuals, corporations, foundations, public and private philanthropic partners pool their passion and resources. I look forward to growing these relationships and I am committed to the long-term growth and success of Children's Bureau.'
