Getting things in order in the New Year
We all know it is a tradition to make New Year’s resolutions. And most often, the things we resolve to do are important things we have been putting off for some time. Reviewing one’s estate plans can often fall into this very important, yet easy to procrastinate, category. But we hope this year you will not only make it a priority to review your estate plans, but also consider including a bequest to Children’s Bureau. A bequest costs nothing now, but provides you with the satisfaction of knowing you are doing something that will make a difference long after you are gone. There are many good reasons to make a bequest – not the least of which is to support the parents and children we serve in the future, just as you are doing during your lifetime! Free from federal estate taxes and income taxes, a bequest puts 100 percent of your designated assets to charitable use. By planning now, you can provide a better future for yourself and your heirs, and ensure that the work of Children’s Bureau continues to protect those most vulnerable in our society – our children.

For information or sample language of how to include a bequest to Children’s Bureau in your estate plan, please contact Carmine Salvucci, Chief Development Officer, at 213-342-0141.
